About Eliani
Eliani has over 26 years working in the education sector. She started her career in her home country (Brazil) teaching English and Spanish to speakers of other languages (TESOL & TSSOL teacher). After migrating to Australia in 1994, she held various training and management roles within universities and Registered Training Organisations. In the Vocational and Training Sector (VET), Eliani worked in the areas of training, assessment, development of training packages, online course design & delivery, validations and compliance.
With the opportunity of working and living in Central Australia for a few years, Eliani gained valuable experience teaching and providing literacy support to vocational courses being delivered to Indigenous students living in remote communities.
In 2016 Eliani joined the Whole of Community Engagement initiative following her interest in supporting Indigenous students who aspire to further their studies.
She holds a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, a Bachelor of Education, a Graduate Diploma in eLearning and has just recently submitted her PhD in Education (eLearning).Her areas of expertise include online course design & delivery, as well as the integration of culturally inclusive and appropriate pedagogical strategies for high student engagement and retention.
