Cedric has a strong background in education, inheriting his passion for education participation from his grandmother, who became the first Yapa teacher to qualify and was the longest serving teacher at Yuendumu School. His uncles followed the educational career of his grandmother. In October 2014, Cedric was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his outstanding support to the NT Police. Recently he completed Certificate 1 in Access and Transition Skills with Batchelor Institute.
He believes that more young people need to be involved in education and will forge an approach of engagement that supports two-way education to ensure that Warlpiri culture stays strong, while young people are still provided opportunity to learn more to get a good job in the future.
