Team Member Reflection: Keresi Motonicocoka

Being a part of the WCE Initiative has been a wonderful experience and I have learnt so much from being a part of this team with such diverse backgrounds that supported each other throughout the initiative.

The position I held within the WCE Initiative has been a challenge but it has also been a wonderful one as I have learnt so much throughout the year – more than I expected.

It was wonderful to have met and worked alongside such wonderful, passionate, driven people and being able to have visited some their communities was definitely one of my favourite highlights as well as our team meetings that we had during the year because that was the time that I was able to see and feel how much passion and drive everyone had within them, as I really couldn’t help absorb it throughout the initiative.

It was wonderful to not only work alongside one another, but to also gain new friendships. The knowledge that I have gained has been amazing as it made me understand and see thing so much more differently.

Most of my work included organising the travel for all WCE staff, where at times it was very challenging and time consuming, but I am proud that I was able to contribute to the success the initiative has had. The other work in my role included a lot of finance and administration which has taught me so much and really added to my skills. I am very proud of the work I have done within the WCE Initiative.
