​Located 290km NW from Alice Springs along the Tanami Highway, the community of Yuendumu has a population of over 750 people.

​Located on the east coast of the Gove peninsula in north-east Arnhem Land, 18 km south of Nhulunbuy, Yirrkala has a population of around 800 people.

​Located approximately 500km north of Alice Springs and 1000km south of Darwin, Tennant Creek is the largest township within the Barkly Regional Council district which is the second largest local government area in Australia, covering an area 42 per cent larger than Victoria.

​Maningrida is one of the largest Aboriginal towns in the Northern Territory with a population of around 3000, and is situated approximately 500km east of Darwin in Arnhem Land, at the mouth of the Liverpool River.It also services about 30 outstations or homelands in the region.

​Gunbalanya,also known as Oenpelli, is a large community of around 2000 people situated about 60km north east of Jabiru, across the East Alligator River in Arnhem Land.
